Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 22, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Waypoint Dynamics, Inc. (“WayPoint,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the WayPoint Marketplace platform (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, company name, role (homeowner, GC, or sub), and password credentials.
- Profile information — business details, service areas, trades, qualifications, and documents you upload such as licenses, insurance certificates (COI), and W-9s.
- Project and transaction content — project descriptions, budgets, addresses, photos and plans, bids, messages, selections, reviews, and ratings.
- Communications — messages you send through the Platform and to our support team.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — log data, IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and similar analytics, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Advertising measurement data — when you arrive from one of our ads, or visit our public pages, advertising pixels (see Section 6) may record the page you viewed and certain actions such as creating an account or posting a project, so we can measure whether our advertising works.
Information from third parties
- Limited transaction and verification data from our payment processor, and information from publicly available records where we offer claimable directory listings. Listing data may come from public state licensing and business registration records and from open business map data. When a business claims its listing, the claim code goes only to a phone number or email address that matches the public record. An address that is not on the record receives nothing, and we never reveal which business a number or address belongs to.
3. How We Use Information
- operate, provide, and maintain the Platform and your account;
- match homeowners with contractors, facilitate bids, selections, and payments, and surface reputation information;
- send transactional notifications (account, bid, payment, document, and compliance reminders) and, where permitted, occasional updates;
- provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and keep the Platform secure;
- analyze usage to improve and develop features; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
- With other users — your profile, reputation, and submissions are shared with the users they are intended for. To protect your privacy, certain contact details (such as email and phone) are withheld until the match is complete: for jobs run in WayPoint PM, when a bid is accepted; for other jobs, when the Marketplace fee for that match is paid, by the homeowner on a general contractor hire or by the subcontractor on a direct hire (see Terms section 7); or earlier if you choose to share them. They then become available to the counterparty so the project can proceed.
- When a homeowner asks a contractor for a bid: the contractor the homeowner picks receives the homeowner's first name and last initial, the project's city and ZIP code, the project details and budget range from the post, and the homeowner's note with phone numbers, email addresses and links removed. The contractor does not receive the homeowner's street address, email address or phone number until contact details are released as described above. We record that the introduction was made through the Marketplace, and we email our own team about each request during the pilot so a person can follow up.
- Daily new-project digest: contractors with an account receive one email a day listing new projects posted in their state (matched from the ZIP code they enter in Settings or the state on their profile); it shows the same project details every contractor sees on the Marketplace and never the homeowner's name, street address, email or phone. Contractors can turn it off in Settings or with the link in the email.
- With service providers — we use trusted vendors to run the Platform, including hosting and database infrastructure, our payment processor, our email and text-message delivery providers, and analytics. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
- With advertising partners — we use Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram) to measure and attribute our advertising. The Meta Pixel on our public pages may send Meta the page you visited, your IP address, browser information, and certain actions (such as creating an account or posting a project), which Meta may combine with your Meta account under its own privacy policy. Under some state privacy laws this may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising; Section 6 explains how to opt out.
- Between WayPoint's products — when a general contractor adds a homeowner to a project in WayPoint's project-management software (waypoint.construction), that product may send us the homeowner's email address and the contractor's company name and email addresses. We check whether the homeowner and contractor first connected on the Marketplace and return only whether and when they did. We use this only to apply our Terms of Service.
- For legal reasons — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of WayPoint, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share the contents of your projects, bids, messages, or uploaded documents with advertising partners.
5. Payment Information
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. When you make a payment, your bank-account or card details are provided directly to that processor on its secure pages; WayPoint does not collect or store full payment-card or bank-account numbers. We receive limited confirmation and status information needed to record the transaction.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Platform, and understand how it is used. We use privacy-conscious analytics to measure aggregate usage.
Meta Pixel and conversion measurement
Our public pages (for example the home page, county pages, and the sign-up and post-a-project pages) may include the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. It sets cookies and sends Meta information about your visit — the page viewed, your IP address and browser details, and events such as viewing a page, submitting a lead form, creating an account, or posting a project. We use this only to measure whether our advertising on Facebook and Instagram brought you here (conversion measurement and attribution) and to reach people who have visited our site with relevant ads. Meta may also use this data for its own purposes as described in the Meta Privacy Policy. The pixel does not run inside your signed-in project workspace, and it never receives your project details, bids, messages, or documents.
How to opt out
- Meta ad settings — control how Meta uses data from websites like ours at facebook.com/adpreferences (“Activity information from ad partners”).
- Browser controls — block or delete cookies, or use a tracking-protection or ad-blocking setting; the pixel will not load. Disabling some cookies may affect sign-in and other functionality.
- Ask us — email us (Section 13) and we will opt your visits out of advertising measurement.
- Industry tools — optout.aboutads.info (Digital Advertising Alliance).
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain certain records (such as transaction and compliance records) for longer where required.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and scoped database permissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials confidential and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update — you can view and edit much of your account and profile information directly in the Platform.
- Deletion — you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to records we must retain by law or for legitimate business purposes.
- Marketing — you may opt out of non-essential marketing emails; transactional messages necessary to your account will continue.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Platform may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
